The bet place to start is by looking at your dealt hands and Dealers up cards and give you an indication of how you should play any particular hand.
Should the Dealer have dealt to you two cards that have a combined total of 12, 13, 14, 15 or 16 then this is often called a bit of a Stiff hand, which means is that it can be easily become a bust hand should you decide to Hit that hand.
On the same front as well as the Player the Dealer can also have one of these so called stiff hands when he or she is holding a 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 as their hand.
Should however, you have been dealt a 17 or higher then this is often known as a Pat hand and you best move is to Stand such a hand
when dealt one or be aware that when the Dealer shows an Ace and a 7 then he is holding a Pat hand.
One of the best and easiest to follow Blackjack strategies is to always Stand if both yourself and the Dealer have been dealt a stiff hand, or always Hit if you are holding a Stiff hand and the Dealer is holding a Pat hand.
Another word of advice is to grab yourself a blackjack strategy card for whatever Blackjack variant you have chosen to play, these cards are ok to use in all casinos, in fact you can often buy them in a casinos.
Often though a novice player who is using such a card will slow the game down so try and make the decision on what you are going to do before the Dealer moves to your betting position, if however you are playing online you can take as long as you like to play each hand as you are not up against fellow players who may become unhappy with game play delays.
