A good tip before we start is for you to play Single Deck Blackjack games in free play mode before you start to play for real money as this will allow you to get to grips with how the game plays and operates and hence you won't make any costly mistakes.
Ok, so let's begin, the game of Single Deck Blackjack as the name suggests uses just the one, single deck of playing cards and it is known as a Hole Card Game, which means the dealer will always peep at his or her cards to check for Blackjack when hen or she is showing an Ace or a Ten.
The Dealer must, due to this games Blackjack rules always Hit their hand when they have a Soft 17.
You are permitted to Double Down (which means buy another card) when you have a 9, 10 or 11 as your first two cards, but you can not Double Down after a Split. You may only Split a hand once and should you do so then by Splitting you will now be playing two hands and not one.
Should you have decided to Split s pair of Aces then you will be dealt to each hand just one card to each Ace, and if you are dealt a Ten valued card dealt to either or both Aces then it will be deemed not a Blackjack hand but simply as a 21 hand.
The payouts for the game of Single Deck Blackjack are the normal ones in which when you get dealt a Blackjack you will receive a payout of 3-2, any other total win will be paid out at odds of 1-1 (even money), and a winning an Insurance bet will get you paid out at 2-1.
